No Motivation

I don't know about you, but this last week has been tough to get motivated to do anything. I actually managed to get dressed every day, but couldn't be bothered to do any kind of make up or take pictures of myself, apart from doing a few LBD @teeclutter #teeclutterbasics. Otherwise, I think I might have tempted to stayed in my pjs all week. I spoke to a couple of friends and it seems like everyone is feeling the same, this lockdown feels soooo much harder. Lockdown 1 was new, we didn't know what was going on and we had the best summer weather EVER to make it a little easier. To be honest I don't even remember when lockdown 2 happened, as the days have all blurred into one since it started raining and getting colder. Having a lockdown 3 in the worst month of the year has well and truly sucked!  No one is doing anything or going anywhere, so there's nothing to talk about, which means that no one bothers calling anyone, what's the point?  But now IS the time to c...

Ding Dong The Tribunal is Over - Now to Start my New Year!

If you've been following my blog you would have known that I lost my job at the start of the first lockdown. I couldn't really go into a lot of detail because it was going to tribunal (which I had early January), but now that is over and on Thursday I found out that I'd won!!!!!!! I have to admit that after the tribunal, when the judge said he would defer his ruling, my confidence in the case slowly went down as the days went on. I was just so desperate to win, I couldn't let someone who'd always gotten their way by bullying, get away with treating people the way I had been treated.   Once I'd seen the ruling on Thursday, I was shaking for about an hour or more after. So much stress, worry and anxiety had been worth it to know that I was right to fight this and prove that they had been in the wrong. I'm proud of what I have done (feeling pretty Wonder Woman right now!), it's been the toughest thing I've ever had to deal with and I'm so thankful...

Changing My Mindset

So I'm still waiting on the ruling of my tribunal, which is still taking up some of my thoughts, but I'm trying not to focus on it too much. Instead I'm trying to get in the right frame of mind to work on the things I want to, like my personal styling business amongst other things. I would have loved to have jumped straight back into it, but like I said on my previous blog, I'm giving myself some time to deal with the aftermath of the tribunal. Even today I had a bit of a wobble, thinking about things I should have said/what the outcome might be. However, my hubby put things into perspective for me and basically said I need to relax more, which to be honest I'm still learning how to do. One of the things I've been doing more of recently is reading, currently fiction, but I've got some styling books that I want to get back into. My friend @thebalancecoach a wellness coach, recently posted some great books for motivation regarding building a business, which ...

The Toughest Week

So I usually post on a Sunday and I had something all written out, but after I got the hubby to check it over (like I usually do) he said it seemed a bit more random than my usual stuff. I think the reason for that was because I normally write about what's happened to me that week and this one was different, so I've scrapped it for now and written about what's really been going on. If you’ve read my blog from the start you’ll know that I lost my job at the beginning of lockdown, I believed I was unfairly dismissed and I’ve been dealing with the fallout from this since April last year. I had to to hire a solicitor, it went to ACAS (a kind of mediation service that you have to go through to try and resolve the issue) and then finally to tribunal, which I had over 2 days last week. It’s been a very tough 9+ months and I’ve documented some of my struggles on here, albeit without much detail. But the last few months and especially this last week have been the hardest. My anxie...

2021 - A Delayed Start

2020, what a year! It's been a difficult year for a lot of people, for me it’s been the toughest mentally. If you’ve already read my blog you’ll know that I lost my job at the beginning of lockdown, then my husband lost his and we found out he had late onset type 1 diabetes (or insulin dependent type 2). It’s been a rollercoaster of emotions and my mental strength has been tested to the limit with the things we have had to deal with. And while 2021 fills us all with the hint of hope and promise for a better year, I feel that I can’t start my new year just yet. I have the most difficult day of the last 9 months coming up and whatever the outcome, I feel I can't look to the year ahead until that’s over with. I keep ruminating about what might happen and if the outcome isn’t what I hope for, but I have to keep reminding myself ‘what’s the worst that can happen’? If it’s not what I’d hope, then so be it, it won’t change the current situation that I’m in, it isn’t life threatening....
