So this week (actaully early Sept as I completely forgot to post this blog) I did the wardrobe edit for a lovely new
client, who wasn’t happy with her wardrobe at all and wanted to feel more confident
in herself and what to wear.
We went through all of the items in her wardrobe, getting her to try them on and discussed how the fit was or wasn’t working for her body shape. She had fallen into the trap of wearing baggy clothes to hide the parts she didn’t like, however this just gives the illusion of making you bigger than you are. Once I had pointed out what this was doing to her shape and how she looked, we went through the clothes so quickly as she now knew what to look for and we got rid of a LOT of clothes!!
Knowing how to dress for your shape can make all the difference, you might think you are hiding your problem areas, but you could be making the area more obvious. By accentuating your best features you are already drawing attention away from the areas you feel less happy with.
With an already great eye for colour, there wasn’t a lot of things that we needed to get rid of for this reason. However, it always amazes me how much of a difference the right colours can make to your face, it’s like a facelift without all the £££££££!
I had lots of new items to source for the wardrobe, which is always fun :) and I've had some lovely feedback from some of the items they purchased off of my recommendations. I really need to start remembering to take some before and after photos though!
